Coronavirus Advice and Guidance

LATEST COVID GUIDANCE

Throughout the pandemic, the health and safety of our students, colleagues, everyone who accesses our campuses, and our local communities has been our main priority.

We are keen that we are reflecting the changes that are being made in society towards managing and living with Covid. It is thanks to everyone’s efforts we have been able to limit the spread of infection within the university and maintain working and teaching, and we want that to continue.

We are continuing to follow any Welsh Government Covid guidance, so that we are taking appropriate and proportionate steps to keep people safe.

OUR CAMPUSES

  • All of our on-campus facilities and services are available
  • Face coverings are not mandatory, but individuals are welcome to wear them
  • There is regular cleaning of high touchpoint areas
  • You’ll find hand sanitisers throughout our buildings which everyone is encouraged to regularly use
  • Everyone is also encouraged to have their Covid-19 vaccinations

RISK ASSESSMENTS

The University’s Covid risk assessments have been updated to reflect the up-to-date public health position and relevant guidelines.

Students were asked to complete individual risk assessments when they enrolled at the start of the academic year.

TESTING

Students are no longer asked to undertake regular asymptomatic testing for Covid, in line with the change in Welsh Government guidance, and therefore lateral flow tests are not available from Advice Zones after 31 March 2022.

If you have symptoms of Covid and test positive, you are asked to follow Welsh Government advice to self-isolate and study from home if you are well enough to do so. If you are unable to attend on-campus teaching sessions, please contact your Course Leader.  If a member of your household has Covid, please follow the latest Welsh Government advice

VACCINATIONS

Everyone who accesses our campuses is encouraged to have their Covid-19 vaccinations. If you haven’t had all of your vaccinations yet, you can find out more on the Health webpages

EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES

The specific arrangements put in place for Covid related extenuating circumstances will be removed at the end of the Spring Term (after Friday 8 April 2022). After this time, our standard extenuating circumstances regulations and procedures will apply
