UniLife – an overview

What is UniLife?

UniLife is USW's student portal, which brings together various student websites and services.

Log into UniLife with your student email address and password: http://unilife.southwales.ac.uk.


UniLife homepage key features

Your Study

Contains key study resources, including links to Blackboard, library resources, timetable information and IT Support.

FAQs/Your Questions/Appointments

Links to Advice Zone Online (AZO) the University's online student support system. AZO contains Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or you can ask your own question and book appointments with specialist support services.

Your Mail/Your Storage/Your Account

Your Mail takes you to your Outlook student email account.

Your Storage allows you to store files online using Microsoft One Drive.

Your Account allows you to check and update personal information (e.g. your address and course modules), view your library account plus any outstanding university debts.

Make a Payment

Make a Payment links to your finance account.


Keep up-to-date with what's happening at USW.


Marketplace allows you to post notices to other students. For more information and guidelines, see the Marketplace entry in UniLife's A-Z.

Other UniLife features:

  • Search finds information on UniLife and associated webpages
  • Important announcements are displayed at the top of the homepage
  • When you need to re-enrol you will see a banner at the top of the homepage 
  • The promo area (sliding picture with text) changes regularly 
  • Quick Links go to some of the most popular UniLife webpages
  • Polls run weekly or monthly
  • Today’s Menus show what is being served in our catering outlets
  • Job Vacancies lists the latest jobs from USW Careers

Most areas of UniLife except the homepage and certain account-specific pages are accessible without a student login. 

What if UniLife isn't working

On the rare occasions when this happens, the UniLife team will use the UniLife Twitter feed to communicate.
