As a result of the current coronavirus pandemic and social distancing measures introduced by the Government, we understand that you may have queries regarding Assessment Deadlines and the need to apply for Extenuating Circumstances.
Faculties can now make their own decisions over Cohort Extensions and some of your assessments may be moved forward to a new date. To enable you to keep up with these changes, please log onto Blackboard regularly, to see the most up-to-date information that has been posted by your Faculties. Advice Zone Online will not have information on extensions for individual courses.
If a faculty has not put a cohort extension in place, this decision has been made taking full account of the Covid-19 situation and the faculty feel that it is still possible and appropriate for the cohort to meet the original assessment deadline.
If, however, you believe you have individual circumstances which may require further consideration, you can submit an Extenuating Circumstances claim as normal. You will need to do this via Advice Zone Online.
We recognise that many students are facing disruption as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. This may be because students themselves, or people close to them, are unwell or are in a high-risk group, or because they have needed to take time out to travel home, or have additional caring or work responsibilities. If you have Covid-19 symptoms, or you are unable to submit an assessment on time due to disruption caused by coronavirus, you can self-certificate for 14 days. These claims will not require supporting evidence.
